Mr. J. Alexander (Chairman, Independent Director) has done M.A. (English Language & Literature), Ph.d. (Philosopy) and is a IAS (Retd.) Officer. After teaching English Literature in Kerala University, he joined the Indian Administration Service in 1963. He has held important positions in his long professional career in Indian Administrative Service including Managing Director of Karnataka State Ware Housing Corporation; Chief Executive Officer of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, Commissioner of Bangalore City Corporation; Chairman of Karnataka State Housing Board and Karnataka State Slums Clearance Board, Bangalore; Chairman and Managing Director of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers, Mangalore; Chairman of Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Karnataka State Finance Corporation, Mysore Sales International Limited, Bangalore Development Authority, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board; Additional Chief Secretary and Chief Secretary to Government of Karnataka. He was elected as member of Legislative Assembly from Bharathi Nagar Constituency and also appointed as Minister for Tourism, Government of Karnataka. His last posting was Secretary to Government for Social, Women and Child Welfare Development. In his capacity as a Chairman of Central Coir Board, he worked as Consultant for Agriculture Organisation of United Nation. He has participated in several meetings and seminars organized by the Asia Alliance, Hong Kong and world Alliance of YMCAs, Geneva, Switzerland and in different parts of the world.
Ms. Gayathri Ramachandran (Independent Director) holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics (Hons.) from Delhi University, a Master's Degree in Economics from Delhi University, a Master's Degree in Development Economics from Williams College, Massachusetts, USA and a Master's Degree in Defence Studies from National Defence College. Belonging to 1972 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), she has over 36 years of experience of working in infrastructure sectors of Government of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh in the areas of power and energy, environment, industry, fertilizers and chemicals and Social Sectors such as Women and Child Development, Tourism and Culture, Rural Development etc. Ms. Ramchandran has made significant contribution to the reforms and restructuring Power Sector and formulating guidelines in the management of Power and Energy sectors.
Mr. V. Ramanan (Independent Director) has done Graduation in Commerce. He has held important positions in his long career with Indian Bank. He had joined Indian Bank as a Probationary Officer in the year 1968 and he retired as a Senior General Manager. He has an aggregate experience of 33 years in banking sector.
Mr. Nikhil Gandhi (Director) has done Graduation in Commerce. He is a first generation entrepreneur with business interest in marine equipments, marine engineering and infrastructure. He has approximately 27 years of experience as an entrepreneur of various infrastructure development projects. Under his leadership, the first private port in India was set up through Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited. He was nominated as a trustee of the Mumbai Port Trust on two occasions. In 1990, he received the 'Best Young Entrepreneur' award from the Ministry of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Government of India and in 2001, he was conferred the 'Great Son of Soil' award by the All India Conference of Intellectuals.
